DENTAL CARE TIPS FOR CHILDREN IN SUMMER
As the summer heat soars, it is common for children to sip and snack during any sports activities or games. Watch your kids’ intake of lemonade, juice, and soda. It is better to take water and fresh fruits as such rather than sodas or sugary fruit drinks.
Since it is holiday time, children tend to snack more than when they are at school. Give your child tooth-friendly snacks like cheese, and apples. carrots etc. Sour candies and lollipops have higher acidic content and are more damaging to teeth. Also, it is better to wait at least 30 minutes after eating before you brush. This is because, soon after eating, the pH in our mouth becomes acidic, so if you brush immediately, it can wear away your tooth enamel.
Make your back-to-school dental check-ups early. These visits can be a good way to ensure that your child’s teeth stay healthy and any problem, if any, can be detected as early as possible.
